Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Portable audio takes on fresh life with quality headphones, and Sennheiser's folding, lightweight, closed-ear PXC 250 is designed to keep outside noises out and headphone sound in--perfect for use in busses and libraries alike.
Increase the peace! The PXC 250 features a noise reduction unit
that cancels out background noise.

When engaged, NoiseGard active noise reduction drops steady-state low-frequency noise (from about 500 Hz and below) by 15 dB--which the human ear perceives as more than halving the noise--thus enhancing the clarity of your music. The noise reduction circuit requires 2 AAA batteries (not included), but the headphones work fine without the circuit engaged.

Sennheiser's fold and flip design lets you turn the ear pieces 90 degrees and fold the headphones closed. Their ported design lets them move more air for greater bass response.

What's in The Box
6-foot Kevlar-reinforced cord, .25-inch stereo adapter, airline adapter, belt pouch.

5 out of 5 stars pleased   January 6, 2009
sound good, very comfortable. noise canceling part is a little strange though, makes a very faint white noise sound, but if you are in a loud environment they work pretty well and you wont hear the white noise

5 out of 5 stars Sennheiser PXC 250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones   January 6, 2009
Great 'budget' product..., works well and is compact. A handy travel alternative to my favourite pair of active noise reduction 'phones: Phitek 'BlackBox' (see: www.phitek.com or www.blackboxonline.com) - AMAZING performance, looks and value against bigger name brands!

4 out of 5 stars very good product   January 4, 2009
I compared this product with the Panasonic noise cancelling earphones RP-HC55 and the JLab JBuds J2 earphones. In a recent Consumer Reports article, the Panasonic is rated above the Sennheiser unit. Based on noise cancelation/isolation alone, I'd rate the Sennheiser as best, then the Panasonic (to my own surprise) only slightly above the JLab product. Having said that, I am looking forward to products that can do an even better job in noise cancellation/isolation. For music, there are slight differences among these three units, based on different songs/music, but to my ears, not a discernible difference. For noise isolation/cancellation alone, I recommend the Sennheiser product, but one has to place purpose above cost for this feature.

4 out of 5 stars Great headset for the money   December 30, 2008
Quality product from Sennheiser. I purchased these primarily for air travel, and it is amazing to hear the difference when noise cancelation is off versus on. No more having to crank up the volume on iPod or inflight entertainment systems. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the awkwardness of the noise canceling device - however for the price this is just a minor inconvenience.

This was one of the best gifts my husband got for his b'day. The product is light weight and easy fold able. The sound quality was very high compare to the sony brand. The noise cancellation works only when you insert the AAA batteries. The product is worth it's price.
