Product Description
Chaney Instrument 00850 5-Inch Capacity Easy-Read Magnifying Rain Gauge

Any good gardener knows that monitoring rainfall is a must. Here's the easiest and most affordable way to do that. As rain fills this cylindrical gauge, the water magnifies gradations and digits behind it to clearly display in inches the amount of rain that has fallen. Easy-to-read white numbers and 1/10th-inch markings also ensure easy reading from a distance. Mount the gauge to a post or stake it in the ground to measure up to five inches of rainfall. A sky blue background adds color to the garden, courtyard, or lawn.

This rain guage offers a unique perspective. It's been designed so that when it fills with water, the numbers are magified enhancing its readability. This rain gauge may be mounted to a post or staked in the ground. 5 inch rain capacity.

Features:
  • Mounts to fence post or sticks in ground with included stake
  • 13-inch, plastic rain gauge
  • 5-inch capacity

Not much to say- my husband the weather nerd loves this rain gauge because it is easy to install and easy to use. It would be great for a family because kids can easily help keep track of the water for the garden. I don't know if I can thank the rain gauge or not, but my yard is looking greener and healthier these days...

Simple, superb, durable rain gauge. Very accurate measurement. Very easy to read from a distance (ie inside the house when it's raining!).

I had a rain gauge like this at my home and my sister liked mine so well, she wanted one. I bought this one and she loves it. It is easy to read because of the magnifying quality.

5 out of 5 stars Good product - Just The Right Size   May 8, 2008

Easy to read. Easy to clean at the end of the season. I like the screw holes to be able to mount it if I want (I keep it in the ground). Good value. The blue color is not that vivid, and has faded to a softer color after one year.
