Amazon.com Product Description
Power electronics, small appliances.
Power electronics, small appliances.
When storm emergencies hit, it's good to have electricity, light, and a radio. It's even better to have all those things together in one place and easy to find when the lights go out. Black & Decker gives you all the emergency essentials in one handy StormStation.

How it Works
This portable unit is equipped with a weather radio, power inverter, and detachable flashlight. When the power goes out, the StormStation's "Find Me" light automatically turns on. Use its 25-watt inverter to power small, essential appliances, like a clock or a cordless phone to keep lines of communication open. Or charge your cell phone via the 12-volt recharging port.

Tune in news on the unit's radio.
Tune in news on the unit's radio.
Listen to the built-in radio to stay informed about civil and natural emergencies--it tunes in AM, FM, TV1, TV2, and weather frequencies. Or remove the flashlight to help see in your darkened home.

All of these features run off the StormStation's 12-volt rechargeable battery. To be prepared for a power outage, keep the StormStation plugged in to an electrical outlet for a full charge.

The StormStation is covered by a two-year warranty from Black & Decker.

1 out of 5 stars unreliable   October 19, 2008
I received this as a gift 3 years ago and pull it out each year and recharge it. This year the main battery is dead and won't recharge even though the green light indicates it's fully charged. The flashlight works and does recharge. A replacement battery is over $30.00 with shipping. The unit does work when it's plugged in(not its intended purpose), but the radio only works on am/fm with just static on the other channels. I wouldn't buy one of these.

5 out of 5 stars Worked Great!!   June 13, 2008
The power went out Monday about 5:00pm and I used the Storm Station until it came back on Thursday just before noon. It worked absolutely perfectly. One reviewer (Maria Something) must not have bought the same product. I couldn't find ANYTHING to criticize about the Storm Station.

Got this for my sister in Tennessee. She has had to use this over and over again. It comes in very handy with all the power outage storms

1 out of 5 stars Bad customer service!   January 25, 2008
DO NOT BUY A BLACK & DECKER STORM STATION! Critical parts such as the flashlight are no longer available. Black & Decker expresses zero concern about their total lack of customer parts service. Black & Decker is off my shopping list forever. Don't buy from a company who cares not one iota about customer service and satisfaction.

Nice item for emergency use, have not had to use it of late. However, the flashlight has issues as far as keeping charged and the bulb which did not have many hours use crapped out fo no reason. I would not purchase this item.
