poor wireless reception. June 9, 2010 Yun Wang 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this one to replace my old Oregon Scientific Weather Station. It is kind of working but the wireless reception is poor. Very often (more than 1/3 time when I was checking) it can not get signal from the sensor. This becomes worse when it is cloudy or rainy day. The sensor is about 40 feets away from the station and there are several walls in between. My old Oregon Scientific ones never had a problem with the wireless signal at the same location.
Weather Station May 18, 2010 David Hansen (San Diego, CA USA) The La Crosse Weather Station arrived quickly and was easy to set up. I've been using it ever since it arrived. It seems to work fine.
Nice product May 16, 2010 James M. Maggi (Minnesota USA) I like it although I've only had it for a couple weeks. Tried to put the remote sensor in my freezer to check temp but as the battery got cold it couldn't transmit thru the metal freezer wall. Other than that it works well and is a bargain .
Great Home Weather Station - Accurate! May 13, 2010 Thomas J. Flynn (Ft. Worth, TX) We really love this weather station. This is our second La Crosse station. It's important to keep in mind that this station operates on a separate, higher frequency so it will not interfere with any other weather stations ( combination inside/outside) stations you may have. We use this station as the main station in our Family room. We use the other, smaller station, in our master bathroom. It's always nice to know what the temperature and humidity are outside, especially early in the morning. The Atomic clock and barometer are super added features.
We like it May 12, 2010 David Long (Berkeley Heights, NJ) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
My father-in-law is a weather buff and loves this thing. It's easy to set-up, but be sure to observe two things:
1. Several reviews have complained about the packaging, but it opens easily from the edge. There are several layers of cardboard. Use a fingernail to separate the layers down the middle and the whole thing will open up like a clamshell.
2. Be sure to install the batteries in the correct order: put them in the remote transmitter, wait for it to initialize, and then install the batteries in the receivers.
